not comprehensive car insurance covers mechanical repairs?
I'm considering buying a car, but have heard some disturbing stories about engines need to re-built and other animal parts, if my engine went my insurance would cover, or I would have to pay out of my own pocket?
General NO and a big fat no. It is not covered. But I know of at least 1 company that will offer mechanical breakdown coverage. Geico offers precisely this coverage for new vehicle purchases, and includes mechanical problems. But it is also what guarantees are for.
